Sharing joyful moments with the children who need them most

Beyond the classroom, MAVI Foundation runs community drives that put a smile on a child's face — distributing new clothes and warm meals during Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Saraswati Puja, Ratha Yatra and other festivals, so no child is left out of the celebration.

Why we do this

A festival should belong to every child

In Kolkata's biggest festival seasons, a new set of clothes and a good meal are simple joys that many families can't afford. We believe no child should watch a celebration from the outside.

So alongside our education programmes, MAVI Foundation organises clothes & food distribution drives timed around the festivals children look forward to most — turning a day of want into a day of belonging.

Let's try to do something for HUMANITY.

Festivals we celebrate together

Joy, timed to the calendar children love

Each occasion becomes a reason to gather the community, share a meal and hand out something new to wear.

Durga Puja

New clothes and festive meals during Kolkata's biggest celebration of the year.

Kali Puja

Warm food and small gifts distributed on this night of light and devotion.

Saraswati Puja

Clothes, sweets and blessings for the students we teach all year round.

Ratha Yatra

Community food distribution alongside the chariot procession's festivities.

We also run drives for other regional festivals and winter clothing needs through the year.

What we distribute

Two simple things, given with dignity

CLOTHES

New clothes

Fresh, brand-new festive wear for children — because dignity starts with something that's truly their own.

  • Boys' & girls' festive outfits
  • Seasonal winter clothing drives
  • Sized and sorted for every age group
FOOD

Warm meals

Nutritious festive food shared together, so every child sits down to a proper meal on a special day.

  • Festival-day community meals
  • Dry ration packets for families
  • Prepared & served with local volunteers
Why it matters

More than clothes and food

Joy

A child's first new outfit for Pujo is a memory that lasts long after the festival ends.

Dignity

Given with care and respect, not as charity that draws attention — just neighbours helping neighbours.

Belonging

Celebrating together strengthens the bond between our students, their families and the community.

Hope

Small acts of kindness during festivals remind children that people outside their home care too.

Get involved

Help us reach more children this festival

Sponsor an outfit, contribute rations, or simply volunteer on distribution day — every bit of help lets another child join the celebration.
