Why turtle graphics?

A gentle, visual first step into real coding

MSWLogo was one of the very first languages designed to teach children to program — you give the turtle simple instructions like FD 100 or RT 90, and it draws exactly what you told it to. Mistakes are friendly and instantly visible, which makes it a wonderful bridge between block-based tools and real, typed code.

This interpreter is part of the same computer-literacy toolkit we use with children in our Basic Computer Training and school tuition programmes — loops, variables, conditionals and even recursion, taught through drawing.
